Meet Our Team

Meg Whelan

Meg’s career started in Staff and Management training, took a detour through a Theatre degree and time spent as a professional actor, and has come full circle, combining her two passions of helping people learn and develop and using theatre in the process.

After several years as a management trainer, she took some time out to study Drama at Bristol University as a mature student. On graduating she began a career dividing her time between working as a professional actor and also as a trainer and coach – this time specialising in sales, telesales, customer service, and management skills.

In all of her training, she strives to design courses which are highly interactive, using role-play or forum theatre as much as possible because she has found it the fastest and most effective way of achieving behavioural change. It is also fun and engaging, and delegates remember the training long after the skills learned have become second nature. Her main area of responsibility with Fruitful Developments is in the creation of experiential learning solutions using actors.

Companies for whom she has designed drama based training include: Npower, Hugin International, The Countryside Agency, Lloyds TSB, Robinsons International, The Employment Service, Budgens, Geologistics, Biotech, T Mobile, RPC Containers, Yapp Brothers, West Wiltshire Housing Association, Smith and Nephew, Trelleborg, Fisher and Paykel and Martin Ward Anderson.

Meg also regularly performs improvised theatre as part of Bristol Playback Theatre. She runs her own theatre company specialising in Theatre In Education and is also developing devised work combining actors and puppets.
